Meet Fred.

Ok. So meet Fred Jezeph.
Through research our Fashion Communication and Promotion Group made not of Fred's favourites and his style.
Essentially Fred paraded around in his white Kick-Hi's to promote and get feedback of the shoes.
I think he was a very good choice!!

We like Fred.

Blondie 2010

To add to Converse Spring 2010 collection, Blondie has also joined the team.

The collection of Chuck Taylor All Star honours art and music that has changed the world. Partnering with pioneering bands Blondie and The Clash showcase fresh interpretations of landmark moments in music history.
Blondie’s succinct pop songs took music to the next level by mixing it with rock, hip hop and reggae to create a fresh new sound.

Led by Debbie Harry, the platinum blonde punk-rock pin-up carved paths for every female pop star since, combining smart, sexy attitude with style and glamour. Her backing band often wore Chuck Taylor All Star shoes and the era and new wave style wouldn’t be the same without the iconic shoe. The Blondie for Converse collection includes Chuck Taylor All Star shoes that honor the band and those who define their own style, with a modern mix of cool animal prints, Blondie album cover graphics, logos and color blocking.

I love how Converse have produced a seasonal collection honouring art and music that has changed the world. However Kickers was also adopted by the music industry especially when the brand was first born in the 70's. Kickers needs to revive this adoption. But maybe 'cool' artwork is also a root for the brand? Street artists definitly comes to mind.

London Calling Converse

COOL BRITANNIA
London Calling by The Clash is one of the greatest albums of all time and to commemorate thirty years since the albums release, Converse have dedicated their Spring 2010 collection to The Clash.

Leading the collection is a special tribute version of the Chuck Taylor All Star shoe in premium white leather.

The sole of the shoes carry the words ‘London’ and ‘Calling’ in the green and pink used on the original album cover. Each shoe is embroidered with the release date of the album and the black tongue carries the names of each of the band members : Mick Jones, Joe Strummer, Paul Simonon and Topper Headon.
Any music lovers dream.

Again I am not your Converse fan however these do appeal and spell the word.. COOL.

However this is the rest of the collection which I am not so much of a fan but these would definitly appeal to the music lovers market.

Kickers can definitly follow in Converse footsteps and the music scene can play the ultimate COOL part.

Spring/Summer 2010

Today I was looking through the KickersUK Facebook page and fell upon images for their Spring/Summer 2010 Womens/Mens and Childrens shoes. When browsing through the images I thought at first that they were pretty similar to their orginals and that they were falling for the same 'Kickers look' as they always have. Not changing anything but colour and the shape of the shoe, which will not help the brand on trying to create awareness and bring in new consumers.

However at the end of the women's photo album I came across these three images:

I thought that these three shoes although they are not the best 'looking' shoes around, are a new side of creativity for the Kickers brand and is showing they are moving forwards. Could this be the season Kickers start to move away from the 'school shoe look'?

Dr Martens 50th Anniversary with Justin Giuntal

Ok Iam going a bit crazy with Dr Martens but Kickers really do need to take some inspiration from them!!
As Dr Martens approach their 50th Anniversary, they really do continue to push an amazement of design and creativity. They have enlisted CFDA Award-winning designer Justin Giuntal of Subversive Jewellery to create four pairs of one-of-a-kind boots. These creations of wearable art will be featured exclusively during Art Basel Miami at The Mondrian Hotel starting at $1,400 each!!
With heavy chains intermingled with delicate ones and earbud style shoe laces they definitly follow the urban-glamour.
I am not your Dr.Martens girl however...
I am in LOOVVVVVE!!
Kickers please take note!!

Lookbook

lookbook.nu is a worldwide known website, where 'cool' individuals take pictures of themselves documenting what they are wearing and an enviroment they see to compliment their outfit. When browsing the website yesterday I came across how nearly every other individual was pictured wearing a pair of Dr Martens. I started to collection of these images and thought to myself... these shoes are seen to be a cool form of footwear and are currently very ontrend, why can't Kickers transform their brand into something just like this? The shoes have a lot in common in style and look so why is Kickers known for school shoes and Dr. Martens a MUST have pair of shoes?
Here are some of the pictures I found

RAF SIMONS x DR MARTENS SPRING/SUMMER 2010

Here is a look between an ongoing collection between Dr Martens and Belgium designer Raf Simons. The collection is a mix of classic and new styles with some very profound designs from Raf.....

Simplicity is the key to this collection
Dr Marten have enjoyed some kind of a new threshold on the market. Recent projects have sensed a new direction for the brand after having established themselves amongst the punk scene.
Personally iam not a fan however........

Spring/Summer 2010 is set to be another pivotal collection between these two very influential names.
Maybe Kickers could introduce such an influential name to their men and womens collections? New shapes, New colours, New Season?
